Film Location & Fashion Shoots 

If you need an exterior shot of a beautiful 19th century castle set off by a sixty acre lake or a gate house cottage we can provide it! Knepp offers an extensive range of locations for film and television, as well as stunning backdrops for advertising and fashion shoots.

Past productions filmed at Knepp include the BBC’s Jonathan Creek (Jonathan Creek lived in Shipley Windmill and broke into one of our cottages); the feature film ‘Dealers’, starring Paul McGann and Rebecca De Mornay, which was based at the Castle and included spectacular footage of the hero’s sea-plane landing and taking off from the lake; and the BBC’s Just William series – which involved flooding the main kitchens of the Castle and generally causing mayhem!

We pride ourselves on our ability to provide professional and calm assistance to visiting crews and the breakfast wagon. We are well used to the demands of a busy unit and make every effort to ensure that filming is free from hassle, and as a member of the Historic Houses Association we adopt their standard charges and contract.

The Castle has also featured in advertisements for Landrover and the 2004 Bergdorf Goodman men’s clothing collection.
